Who Are We?
It can be easy to overlook aging church members in a world that seems focused on youth - which is exactly why we started our senior ministry. "Hilltoppers" is an outreach and engagement program designed specifically for the benefit of senior citizens. The Bible is the centerpiece - everything else, as far as activities are concerned, is secondary. You can find social fellowship in any social club or group; with Hilltoppers, our emphasis is on fostering joy and encouragement in a setting of faith. By coupling passion and purpose, we hope to serve our seniors and keep them coming back to each meeting.
For questions about the Hilltoppers, including how to attend, speak to Don McBrayer, associate minister and Hilltoppers program organizer.
What To Expect
We begin our program with a warm, friendly welcome, which includes a special focus on any first-time guests.
Individual programs may differ slightly, but most include the singing of songs and hymns, devotionals, prayer, and a meal.
The Hilltoppers often partake in day trips and outings, host Bible studies, invite in guest speakers or simply watch a movie together. Fellowship, camaraderie, and encouragement are a focus of this ministry.
We believe the Lord will bless this program, and may God bless you all on your journey of life!
Senior Citizens Banquet
Each year, our congregation holds the Senior Banquet to celebrate and recognize some of the most hard-working and involved members of the church - our seniors. The banquet features a unique theme each year, with dinner, meal service, and entertainment provided by the younger members of the church to show appreciation to the older generation. It's always a blast!
